Hari Raya AidilFitri

MUHAMMAD AMIN

Every year, my family and I always celebrate our Hari Raya in our village which is at Kulim, Kedah. We always arrive a day early before Hari Raya to gather with other family members and celebrate this festival together. On the first day of Hari Raya, I woke up early to took my bath and performed the dawn prayers with them. After that, I was so excited to wear my turqoise baju melayu and at the same time, I watch over the house and the kids with other family members. After fasting for 30 days in Ramadhan, this is the time for me to enjoy all kind of food such as Ketupat, Lemang, Rendang and so many more. At the afternoon, my family members from all over the places were gathering at my grandfather's house to celebrate our Hari Raya together. I am so happy to met all my cousins and chat with them. We ate, talk and laugh together because it has been awhile we did not see each other. Hari Raya AidilFitri is the most interesting event because all mistakes and hatred have been forgives and forget. Everyone will apologize to each other either older or younger than us includes my family. Another one thing that I like the most is I will receive so much money from my family members. In conclusion, I like to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with my family and other family members because it gives me so much memory to remembers.

MUHAMMAD MUIZZ

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is the celebration that all muslim look forward to each year after a whole month of fasting. For me and family, this year of Hari Raya we choose purple color attire with matching shoes. Every year, my family and I head down to Perak where both of my parent's village are located. Though the trip can be very boring at times, but we always look forward to meet the other family members because this is the most important element in this festive. As we arrived, the first thing to do was to put up the oil lamps or known as "pelita" which my cousin and I did it every year. As the Lemang is being cooked outside the house, I and my cousins were busy filling the Ketupat cases with rice. Besides Lemang, Ketupat and Rendang are also the main menu that will be cooked by my sisters and others. A night before Hari Raya, I and my family will go to the mosque to reciting takbir as the sign of the end Ramadhan. On the next day, everyone is up early to celebrate the Hari Raya. We will go to the mosque to attend the eid prayer and after that, we will visit my mom's late grave. On this moment, I feels sad because we cannot celebrate Hari Raya together. What can we do is recite Al Fatihah and Yaasin for her so that her soul will rest in peace. The rest of day is filled with visited my other family members house as well as receiving guests at home.

PUTERI ARISYAH

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a great moment for me. It is because on Hari Raya, the situation and the feelings is very different. Usually, on the day of Hari Raya, I will wake up early to prepared myself to wear my new baju raya or we called it as "Baju Kurung". My father and brothers will go to the mosque for prayers feast while my mother and I will prepare the food. After all the sessions began to done, there was a forgiveness session between my parents and I. After that, my parents will give me the "Duit Raya" and that is what we love the most. In the afternoon, we will go to my grandparents house which is 20 minutes from my house. In that day, all over my family will gathered together. We will do the forgiveness session with each others and my other family members will give "Duit Raya" for me and all their nephews and nieces. On that special day also, our far relatives comes over my grandparents house. We had a great moments enjoying ourselves since it has been awhile we did not see each other. After a month of fasting, the awaiting time has come. There was variety of traditional food such as Ketupat, Lemang, Kuah Kacang, Rendang and Lontong. I enjoyed all the food after a month of fasting. For me, Hari Raya is a great moments which is to celebrate it with all the family members.

AIN QARINA

After a month of fasting, finally this is the time for all muslim to celebrate their Hari Raya, including me and my famuly. As usual, my family and I will celebrate our Hari Raya in the village which is situated in Muar, Johor. A night before the special day arrived, my mom and my aunties will cook variety of delicious food such as Ketupat, Rendang, Kari Ayam, Kuah Lodeh and Sambal Kacang. While they were busy preparing the meals, the kids will enjoying themselves playing the fire crackers. The house will also be decorated with "pelita" around it. On the day of Hari Raya, me and my girl's cousins woke up early to help our mom and aunties prepare for the meals and getting ready to wear our new baju kurung while waiting for the men back from the mosque for Hari Raya prayer. After that, we will start to apologize each other and at the same time I am so happy because at this age I still get my "Duit Raya" from my parents and the other family members. Before we visit our relatives, we took a lot of photos with variety of pose either with family or cousins. It was so much fun and exciting! I really hope that our next Aidilfitri will be celebrated with more happening and a lot of joy.

MUHAMMAD BADLISHAH

Based on my experience, when eid celebration comes, all muslims will be so much excited to celebrate the eve. The guys in our family will go to the mosque to perform our eid prayers in the morning after "Subuh". Meanwhile, the women in our family especially my mom, she is the head of chef in my family. While the guys perform their eid prayers, the women will cook the special dish like Rendang, Ketupat, Lontong, Kuah Kacang, Lemang and many more. Sometimes my family will cook early tin the middle night of the eid celebration so that they don't have to rush to cook a lot of dishes. The dishes will be present on the dining table early in the morning. After eating the special menu that my mum has made, we all will ask for the forgiveness between each others to make sure that all our sins with them will be forgiven. As the elders, they will give us some money in the envelop that we called it as "duit raya". The most important thing of Hari Raya is this is the time for Muslim people gather together to enjoy this happy moment with each other. That is the wonderful thing to do when Hari Raya.

The Best Movie Ever

First of all , Assalammualaikum and we would like to say thank you to our beloved Madam Shafina Hilni Binti Halim for all those kindness in teaching us in Proficiency English 1 subject. For today's entry, we were asked to write about "The Best Movie Ever" and we are so excited to share it on to you. After 2 days of discussing , we had decided that Titanic is the best movie ever for us.
James Cameron’s Titanic is one of the most successful movies of all time, and I have no problem saying that it’s also one of the most beloved movies ever made. (We’re now in the era when success doesn’t always hinge on deep fan love; witness The Phantom Menace, the Transformers films, or Khloe Kardashian.) Where Titanic may well be unique in the history of cinema is that it is also, arguably, the most hated beloved movie ever made. Any number of celebrated films, of course, have provoked backlashes. Just think of the strain of carping snootiness that has always gathered, like a pesky mosquito army, around the work of Steven Spielberg (“He’s too sappy! And manipulative!”), or the routine bashing of famous Oscar crowd-pleasers like Marty or Ordinary People orShakespeare in Love, or my own persistent impatience with the Lord of the Ringstrilogy, a wandering-through-the-woods saga that I’ve always found to be as ponderous as it is majestic.
What’s special about Titanic is that the backlash happened so quickly, and became so widespread, and grew nearly as mythological as the movie itself. The film was released in December 1997, and a few weeks later, when it started to play around the country to surging, off-the-charts crowds, the voices of dissent had already begun to coalesce. For everyone who adored Titanic, and even (like me) thought that it was a heart-swelling masterpiece of old-fashioned Hollywood audacity, it seemed as if there was someone else who thought it was overrated and overblown. And you’d better believe that they were going to make sure that ship sank! According to the counter-myth, the movie was a cliché love story on steroids, brimming in every scene with terrible and even embarrassing dialogue. No one denied that the ocean-liner-split-in-two, deluge-in-the-corridors, crowds-falling-like-rats special effects were amazing, but in a funny way, Cameron’s indisputable virtuosity as a creator of doomy technological spectacle became the anvil of criticism used to drag down his skills as a storyteller. A lot of what the naysayers thought boiled down to this: Who does James Cameron, the man-machine auteur of the Terminator films and Aliens and The Abyss, think he is trying to pretend that he can write a real script…with dialogue out of some period costume drama…as if he were now trying to be the Merchant-Ivory of historical disaster films?
Then, of course, there was the teeny-bop factor. Titanic was a record-breaking smash because it drew from every demographic there was (do you know anyone who didn’t see it?). But its most feverishly publicized demo were the swarms of girls in their teens and early twenties who went to the movie to swoon, and weep, and gawk at Leo, who instantly became the biggest star on the planet, in the galaxy, in the universe. I had the privilege of meeting Leonardo DiCaprio at a party in New York a couple of months after the movie’s release (he was very smart and very nice — a playful dude free of bad energy), and I can testify that of all the occasions, in the years that I’ve done this job, that I have ever gotten to chat with a celebrity, this was the one time when I almost felt like I was meeting one of the Beatles in 1964. That was how electric the aura was that surrounded Leo.
For the critics of Titanic, however, that Leo-as-pinup element rendered the film a kind of Oscar-bait version of Twilight. The movie, in their eyes, was something cheesy and all too marketably romantic, a teen-idol bedroom poster in movie form (its most famous image — Leo embracing Kate, arms outstretched, on the ship’s bow — was that poster), something for the kids to swoon over. And so to take it at all seriously, to say that you actually got drawn into the love story, to say that it achieved the universality that great love stories do, would be the height of un-coolness. It would have seemed, at least to some, like saying that the Backstreet Boys were the equal of Nirvana. The Celine Dion theme song, as haunting a pop epiphany, in its way, as “Moon River” in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, was, of course, deemed so officially un-cool that it was recently dissed by no less than Kate Winslet (who said that it made her want to throw up). And for those who couldn’t stomach “My Heart Will Go On,” the final nail in the coffin of Titanic may well have been James Cameron’s “I’m the king of the world!” Oscar speech, a moment so nakedly nerdy that it really did deserve to be mocked. For the crucify-Titanic crowd, though, it was more proof that the movie was a sentimental sham built on a false bottom of ego.

On April 10,1912 the titanic largest ship afloat. Left southhampton england on her "Maiden Voyage" to New York city. A legend even before she sailed her passengers(actor by Leornado DiCaprio) were mixture of the world wealthiest basking in the elegance of first class pro ship. she was touted as the safest ship ever built so safe that she carried only 20 lifeboat. Four days into her journey at 11.40 pm on the night 14, she struck an iceberg antartica ocean sea.It became obvious that many would not find a safety in lifeboat. Each passenger was issued a life jacket but life expectancy would be short when exposed to to water that was freezing below four degress.

Based on the true story and the movie, Titanic sailing in exalted through an Atlantic ocean, suddenly it hits the iceberg. Then, the situation became chaoutic. The ship was sinked. In the movie, even though Rose have a chance to safe her life in the first first place because she is from the noble class, she choose to look after her true love Jack in order to save their lives together. Everybody was very panic at that moment, running over here and there . Sad to say, the ship cracked into two on the night of 15th April 1912. Jack and Rose run towards the highest deck so that they can reach the pole in order to avoid from falling down. In that long period they standstill, the true lovers become weak. They know their fate is very near to come. They encourage each other to be strong. They slowly sink into the sea. Jack was in badly hipotermia. He ended his life infront of Rose

"When there's a will, there's a way" . That is one of the best quotes that we took as our main principe in our daily life.Because of the tragedy, Titanic became the best-known ship in the world and capturing the public imagination. Moreover, some 100 year after sinking, the Titanic ship remains an enduring legend and becomes an unforgettable tragedy in the world. We hope you guys enjoy reading our blog by this week. Thanks for the reading, a lots of love from us ,<3 XOXO .

Fifa World Cup

Hello everyone! For this week, we are going to talk about FIFA World Cup 2014 but before we proceed, we are honoured to say thankyou to our lecturer, Madam Shafina Hilni bt Halim for all those tutorials all this while in our Profieciency English 1 subject. So lets begin now, as soccer began to increase in popularity, FIFA agreed to recognize the Olympic tournament as a "World Football Championship for the amateurs" in 1914 and took responsibility for organizing the event. FIFA World Cup was held in 1930 and on that time, the president of World Cup, Jules Rimet decided to stage an international football tournament.

The world cup comes once in 4 years. The phenomenon is like an epidemic that come across over the world. No matter where we are the topic is all about football either in the office or at the coffee shop and even the school boys also busy talking about football. In this year of FIFA World Cup, the most popular and powerful team are Germany, Brazil, Argentina and Netherland. As all of we know, Ozil is the most popular and talented player in Germany team and same goes to Neymar, he is one of the best player among the best with the highest goal score in this World Cup. That makes the viewers very excited to see the skills of their favorite players acting on the field. As we know that the different of time between Brazil and Malaysia is very much different. So that the fans in Malaysia have to wakeup as early as 0330 am to watch their favorite team match. Eventhough they are in sleeping mode, they still want to watch their team at television and don't even care about time.

For this year of FIFA World Cup, it started on 12th June 2014 until 14th July 2014 which is on summertime. There will be 64 matches, involving 32 team from all the over world. The opening ceremony is usually a traditional curtain raiser and same goes on this year of FIFA World Cup which include performance from the well known artist such as Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, Beyonce and Paul Mc Cartney. Walking down the memory lane, those world cup song from the past that was "WakaWaka" song by Shakira and for this year of World Cup song is produced by Jeniifer Lopez feat Pitbull called "We are the one Ola Ola".

Federation International Footbal Association or we called it as FIFA World Cup 2014 is the 20th FIFA World Cup and it is the second time hosted by Brazil. This is a tournament for the world championship football that held every 4 years and it includes 32 teams in one host nation that trying to be champion of the world. Moreover, the world cup is the most exciting tournament to watch and cheer for no matter how old we are. It is also a tournament that makes all of us unite into one team while supporting our team and the most interesting part is, all the supporters show their support by wearing the jersey of their favorite team. Eventhough sometimes football fans are too fanatic with their team yet they also can be very loyal to their team. This shows that football bring a lot of changes among society and it can be seen through the spirit shown by the supporters. We as the students and also the suporters put high hopes on Germany to be the champion of this FIFA World Cup 2014 to create the best world cup in history.

IFTAR

Hello and Asalamualaikum! First of all we would like to thanked our lecturer Madam Shafina Hilni bt Halim for giving us this task with an interesting topic to be shared and Happy Ramadhan al Mubarak to all our fellow muslim brothers and sisters. In this holy month of Ramadhan, there will be variety of food stalls or called as Bazaar Ramadhan that sells different types of meal for Iftar such as Nasi Ayam, Nasi Kukus, Nasi Dagang, Air Tebu and so many more. Wait, before we proceed to the next part, Iftar? What is Iftar? We know some of you might not know what is Iftar refers to. Iftar is actually an Arabic word which means evening meal and it happens during sunset right at the time of Maghrib. According to our Prophet Muhammad SAW, Muslims should first break their fast with some Tamar and a drink of plain water before proceed to Maghrib prayers. Moreover, during this holy month of Ramadhan, this is the right time for Muslims to gather with the whole family members to break their fast together either at home or restaurant.

There are various of food during Ramadhan and most of it can be found at Bazaar such as Murtabak, Ayam Golek, Ikan Bakar and more. When it comes to drinks, based on our observation, people tend to have more interest in Soya and Tebu than the rest. In our opinion, we should be more rational when buying food despite all the temptation to avoid wastage of food because this is the month for Muslims to be moderate in lives.

Furthermore, during this month of Ramadhan, it is very important for Muslims to concentrate on their faith and spend less time on the concerns of their everyday lives. They are not allowed to eat or drink during daylight hours till Azan of Maghrib then the fast is broken with prayer and a meal called Iftar. Other than that, Iftar is also known as "berbuka puasa" and is often done as a community with people gathering together. Muslims believe that feeding someone during Iftar is a form of charity that has been practiced by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Despite that, during Ramadhan, major mosques are fully filled with Muslims going to have their Iftar together with others and followed by "Terawih Prayer".

Iftar is also one of the way for Muslims to sit together among family members and spend their times together. Instead of waiting for the Maghrib prayers to be sound, ukhuwah or the bond between family members will be tightened. Through Iftar, problems can be shared and solved together. Not only enjoying the delighted delicacies but also the bond could be existed. From our conclusion, enjoying the meal is not only the best part but the bond of a family should be highlighted as the main value in this holy month.

-Thank You and Happy Ramadhan al Mubarak-
